Maa Durga and Nine evils of Life

The film, television, and storybooks of the Maa Durga-Navratri celebration show the devil of ugly face, cruel nature which kills and eats humans, but actually, there are no devils in real life.
In real life, the evils are our ego, sorrow, greed, jealousy, lust, anger, attachment, fear, inertia, and feel.
We have to kill all these devils from our life. This is a somewhat difficult task and to overcome this the worships of the Maa Durga in Navratri are the source of energy that helps to kill these devils.

  • Kama (Lust): Lust is not just physical (sexual) attraction but desires for unnecessary things
  • Krodh (Anger): Anger is a fleeting feeling
  • Lobh (Greed): Greed is a selfish and intense desire that is unnecessary.
  • Moh (Attachment): The affection towards the things which is not ours.
  • Irsha (Jealousy): By comparing to others, as well as the feeling that I must have what others have.
  • Ahankar (Ego): Ego is the pride of a person in which others are underestimated
  • Nafrat (feel): Hate and dislike, everyone who comes in contact with you. Always showing fault and mistreating others.
  • Jadta (Inertia): Inertia is a mentality to remain unchanged or tendency to do nothing.
  • Darr (Fear): Fear is an anonymous feeling triggered by fear, pain or the threat of harm.

The worship of the Maa Durga is the source of energy which helps to kill these devils and succors peace to the worshiper.

In these nine days each day, we take commitment to destroy one evil from our mind. After these nine days, the tenth day is "Vijaya dashmi" which is the win over all these negativity.
